UN agencies present their work to young people in Kananga for United Nations Day

UN agencies held an open day in Kananga, Kasaï-Central, on October 25 to present their work and achievements in the province for United Nations Day. UNICEF described initiatives to support children’s education, particularly girls’, distribute school supplies and assist vaccination campaigns. UNDP outlined its support for efforts to combat sexual and gender-based violence and for mobile hearings related to the Kamuina Nsapu conflict. The World Food Programme presented food assistance for vulnerable people and support for farmers as part of efforts to fight hunger.
