UN: DRC Insists on Implementing Commitments and Resolutions to Restore Peace in the East

Prime Minister Judith Suminwa stated at the 81st UN General Assembly that the DRC expects the implementation of existing commitments and resolutions to restore peace in the East. She highlighted the gap between international commitments and the reality faced by local populations, including violence, displacement, sexual violence, and disruptions to education. She also condemned resource exploitation and Rwandan aggression through AFC/M23, emphasizing that the DRC favors diplomatic efforts for a lasting solution.
