UN slashes food aid for occupied West Bank and Gaza amid funding shortfall

The World Food Programme (WFP) announced it must halve its assistance in the occupied West Bank, reducing support from 400,000 to 200,000 people due to funding constraints. In Gaza, the WFP supports 1.5 million people, including one million who receive monthly food assistance. WFP's Country Director for Palestine, Shaun Hughes, stated that the agency is prioritizing the most vulnerable while cutting assistance to others despite widespread needs.
