UN votes to adopt new world map to reflect Africa's true size

The UN General Assembly voted to replace the traditional world map with one that more accurately reflects Africa's size. The 'Correct the Map' resolution, sponsored by Togo and backed by African Union members, passed with support from 164 nations, while the United States was the only country to vote against it. This initiative aims to correct the distortions of the Mercator projection, which minimizes the size of countries near the equator.
