UN warns about Discrimination in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

At the 25th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action in New York, António Guterres emphasized that racism remains a major source of inequality and rights violations, worsened by digital technologies and artificial intelligence. He called for stronger anti-discrimination laws, their enforcement, and institutions, as well as policies promoting inclusion and equality. Guterres also highlighted that racism is linked to colonial, slavery, and oppression legacies, manifesting through economic, social, and political inequalities and institutional discriminatory practices.
