Vice President Kashim Shettima stated that heavy debt servicing hampers Nigeria and other developing countries from adequately investing in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He called for reforms in the international financial system to improve access to financing and ensure development needs are considered. Shettima also advocated for wider access to concessional financing and alternative funding models involving private capital, South-South cooperation, and strategic partnerships.
