UNIPORT gets new Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has approved the appointment of Prof. Princewill Chike as the 10th Vice-Chancellor. He will assume office on July 13, 2026, following the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent VC, Prof. Owunari Georgewill. Chike previously served as Rivers State Commissioner for Health under former Governor Nyesom Wike. The selection process was conducted in compliance with relevant laws.
