United States issues additional USD 267 million to combat Ebola in DRC

The United States has provided an additional $267 million to support the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Announced during the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly in New York, this aid aims to expand treatment units, safe burial teams, procure protective equipment, and enhance surveillance and contact tracing. Nearly 4,000 people have died from Ebola in the DRC, and the U.S. remains the largest provider of health and humanitarian assistance, having already contributed $887 million to combat the outbreak.
