Unlimited strike in the coffee-cocoa sector: SYNAP-CI launches its mobilization tour from Bouaflé

The crisis in the coffee-cocoa sector in Côte d'Ivoire is escalating with the start of an unlimited strike by SYNAP-CI on September 16, 2026. The union has begun a national tour to mobilize producers, starting in Bouaflé, where its president, Koné Moussa, urged solidarity around their demands, including the departure of the director general of the Coffee-Cocoa Council and better management of cocoa stocks. SYNAP-CI also contests the price of 1,200 FCFA per kilogram, deemed insufficient compared to production costs.
