Nurse Killed in Bafwasende Amid Ebola-Related Rumors

A nurse was killed on Saturday, October 24, in the Digidi neighborhood of Bafwasende-centre in Tshopo province after youths accused him and a colleague of spreading Ebola by contaminating local water sources. A teacher described as close to the nurse was also seriously injured, but police intervened and rescued him. Authorities condemned the violence and urged calm; a local security council meeting was held on Sunday as police continued searching for the perpetrators and their alleged instigators.
