Updated: CSOs protest at Finance Ministry, demand end to excessive borrowing

Civil society organizations, youths, students, and market women protested yesterday at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, demanding that the Federal Government reduce borrowing and invest more in critical sectors of the economy. The protesters, under the aegis of Climate Action, warned that the rising debt-servicing burden is crowding out funding for essential public services. They called for greater transparency in debt management and urged the government to prioritize spending that directly improves the welfare of Nigerians.
