Urban Transport: New Electric Taxis Arrive in Senegal, What Will Change for Users

The Senegal International Trade Center officially launched the electric taxi program, delivering the first 100 vehicles on September 24 in Dakar. Funded by the Bank for Trade and Industry (Bci), the initiative aims to significantly modernize the taxi fleet, with plans to deploy 1,000 taxis by early 2027 and 10,000 by 2030. The taxis, Geely EX2 Pro models, are air-conditioned, quiet, with over 400 km of range, equipped with fast-charging stations and GPS tracking for passenger safety.
