US Arrests Two Nigerians for Illegal Voting

The US Department of Justice announced the arrests of two Nigerian nationals as part of a crackdown on election-related offenses. Mohammed Omar Hassan, 61, a lawful permanent resident, is charged in Texas with voting as a non-citizen in the 2022 and 2024 elections. Michael Agah, 74, also a lawful permanent resident, is charged in North Carolina with voting as a non-citizen and falsely claiming US citizenship on an authorization-to-vote form; he allegedly voted in a federal election on November 5, 2024. Attorney General Todd Blanche called the announcement the largest surge in voter-fraud arrests since Donald Trump returned to office.

They also accuse authorities of failing to adequately monitor COMMUS, which is controlled by Zijin Mining, and enforce environmental laws.
