US sanctions have prevented many Iranian airlines from accessing global airspace, making travel more difficult for Iranians. On September 8, the US Department of the Treasury sanctioned 27 Iranian airlines, including Iran Air and Mahan, restricting their operations. Several neighboring countries, such as Oman, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, have ceased allowing Iranian airlines to use their airspace, leading to the cancellation of many flights to Turkey, the UAE, and China.
