US Congress passes bill to resume funding for DHS and end partial shutdown

The United States House of Representatives passed a Senate-approved bill to resume funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), sending the measure to President Donald Trump's desk. Although the bill did not include ICE or CBP, it ends an 11-week partial government shutdown that had disrupted several DHS departments. Democratic Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren welcomed the decision while calling for reforms for ICE and CBP.
