US Elections: Obama Says Americans Sent a Clear Message After Democrats’ Victory

Barack Obama praised the Democratic Party’s victory over Donald Trump’s Republicans in the US midterm elections on Wednesday. In a post on X, the former president said voters wanted leaders who promote unity, offer practical solutions and serve the public rather than deepen divisions. He congratulated Democratic candidates elected across the country, including in traditionally Republican strongholds, and pointed to their diverse backgrounds. Democrats took control of both the House and Senate; Trump congratulated them but said Republicans lost because Americans were unwilling to pay higher gasoline prices amid the Iran war.
