US man convicted in 2023 shooting of three Palestinian students in Vermont

A jury in Vermont convicted Jason Eaton, 51, of attempted murder for shooting three Palestinian students near the University of Vermont in November 2023. The attack left Hisham Awartani paralyzed and injured his friends Tahseen Aliahmad and Kinnan Abdalhamid. Eaton was found guilty despite his defense of not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming he believed he was on a mission to protect a Jewish family.
