US secures release of detained citizen Adam Castillo in Myanmar

The US State Department helped secure the release of Adam Castillo, a US citizen detained in Myanmar for three months. Castillo, a former Marine and president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, was arrested on June 11 for breach of trust allegations. He was released into US custody and then flew to Bangkok, Thailand.

Trinidad and Tobago ends state of emergency amid pushback over mass arrests
