US strikes new targets in Iran as Tehran hits Gulf states, Hormuz shipping

The United States struck Iran's Khuzestan province, including the cities of Abadan and Mahshahr, as well as Qeshm Island, while Iran retaliated by attacking ships in Omani waters and striking Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The June 17 interim peace deal appears dead, and the US has reinstated a blockade of Iranian ports. Previous US strikes targeted Bushehr and Bandar Abbas.
