US to send third aircraft carrier towards Iran: US official to Al Jazeera | US-Israel war on Iran News | Al Jazeera

The United States is deploying a third aircraft carrier to waters around Iran, according to a US official. The USS Theodore Roosevelt strike group left San Diego, followed by the Makin Island Marine Expeditionary Force with over 2,000 Marines. By the end of November, three aircraft carriers and two amphibious groups will be positioned around Iran, providing President Trump with more military options, while economic sanctions against Iran continue. Trump has publicly kept the threat of war alive, mentioning the possibility of military action while favoring diplomacy.
