US troop withdrawal won’t weaken Nigeria’s security partnership — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters stated that the planned withdrawal of over 200 U.S. personnel from Nigeria will not affect the security partnership between the two countries. Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Samaila Uba, emphasized that this decision should not be seen as a breakdown of cooperation. He highlighted that the responsibility for Nigeria's defense primarily rests with its security forces.
