Uvira: Tension in Kabindula After Installation of New Grouping Chief

The installation ceremony of Kabale Ghislain as the new group leader in Kabindula, within the Bavira chiefdom in Uvira (South Kivu), was conducted under heavy security, replacing Romain Lenge. The event sparked protests from some residents, who organized demonstrations that were dispersed by police. Local actors believe the installation was unnecessary at this time and call for peace and stability in a region with ongoing security issues. Nyanga Mwendo urges authorities to take measures to maintain institutional stability, emphasizing that instability hampers development.
