Ivory Coast: A World-Class Gold Deposit Discovered in Boundiali and Kouto Departments

Ivory Coast announced the discovery of a significant gold deposit in the Boundiali and Kouto departments in the north of the country by Australian group Aurum Resources Limited. The deposit, estimated at 115 tonnes of gold, boosts the prospects of growth for the Ivorian mining industry, with a target of 30 tonnes annually within three years. The project, named « Boundiali », includes four open-pit deposits, with exploitation planned over about eleven years, and an investment of over 200 billion CFA francs. Production is expected to start in the first half of 2028, with significant economic and social benefits for the region.
