Vanguard Staff Member Discovers Expired NAFDAC Certification on Custard Pie

A Vanguard staff member raised a food-safety concern after buying a WAO Custard Pie from a shop in Lagos. Before consuming it, the staff member checked the product’s NAFDAC registration number on the agency’s official portal. The portal identified Dreamers Food Limited as the manufacturer and showed that the certification expired on December 11, 2024, displaying the warning: “Product certification has expired.”
