Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez stated that the country is preserving its sovereignty despite an agreement with the US to hand over rights to 65 billion barrels of oil. The 25-year deal will allow Venezuela to develop its oil industry while retaining ownership of its resources. Rodriguez noted that $19 from every barrel sold to the US would flow to Caracas, potentially worth up to $209 billion annually for the country.
