Max Verstappen of Red Bull won a wet and chaotic Singapore Grand Prix sprint race after George Russell crashed his Mercedes while leading at the end of the opening lap. Russell lost control after touching a white line on the final bend, hitting the pit lane wall and causing a safety car. Verstappen held off Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton to win by 2.50 seconds, with Charles Leclerc finishing third. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri spun and touched on the final lap while in fourth and fifth. Russell, starting from pole, admitted he miscalculated his battery deployment, leading to his crash.
