Violence: Nuñez rules out reconsidering whether upcoming football matches will go ahead

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said on Monday that violence and looting would not prompt a reconsideration of upcoming football matches, despite the heavy deployment of law enforcement. Speaking at Matignon alongside Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, he said Tuesday evening’s Paris Saint-Germain–FC Barcelona match in Paris would go ahead. He also cited other possible European Cup fixtures, including matches in Lille.
