Volta Star Textile: Ghana to Import Beninese Cotton to Revive Its Industry

Ghana is preparing a memorandum of understanding with Benin to supply cotton to the Volta Star Textile plant in Juapong. President John Dramani Mahama announced that a strategic investor has been identified to modernize the plant, as part of the Volta Economic Corridor. Benin, Africa's top cotton producer, is chosen as supplier, while Ghana's textile sector seeks revival after its 1970s golden age.
