VP Shettima returns to Nigeria after UNGA

Vice President Kashim Shettima returned to Nigeria after representing President Bola Tinubu at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. He delivered Tinubu’s national statement during the General Debate, advocating for UN Security Council reform and greater African representation. Shettima also attended the Africa Minerals Strategy Group roundtable, where Tinubu urged African countries to focus on processing and manufacturing minerals. He reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to education at a joint Nigeria-Italy financing event and met with Nigerians abroad, ECOWAS leaders, and UN officials to promote development, regional integration, and a more equitable global order.
