WAFU B U-17 Championship: Golden Eaglets crash out after draw with Côte d’Ivoire

Nigeria drew 1-1 with Côte d’Ivoire in its final Group B match at the WAFU B U-17 Championship, ending its hopes of qualifying. The Golden Eaglets finished bottom of the group with one point from two matches, behind second-placed Côte d’Ivoire on two points and group winners Niger on four. After conceding in the first half following defensive confusion, Nigeria equalised five minutes from time through substitute John Abiodun, following a solo run by Colombus Igboenyobe. Abiodun missed a late chance to complete the comeback, and the Ivorian goalkeeper saved another effort moments later.
