Walikale: New Displaced Persons Arrive in Kyumba and Langira Following Intensified Fighting in Masisi

Since September 3, 2026, new displaced persons have been arriving in Kyumba and Langira, fleeing fighting between the AFC/M23 rebels and the wazalendo in Masisi. Host families, already facing economic difficulties, struggle to accommodate these individuals, who are living in precarious conditions without adequate shelter or access to food. The local chief of Kyumba is calling on humanitarian organizations to intervene quickly to address the urgent needs of the displaced.
