Walikale: over 120 children removed from armed groups

At least 122 children, including 36 girls, have been removed from armed groups in the territory of Walikale (North Kivu) over the past two weeks. This joint operation by MONUSCO, PDDRCS, and BVES follows a coordination workshop held on May 12, 2026, in Beni. Most children come from the Uhuru, Raiya Mutomboki, and Raiya Kujigomboa groups. Of the 122 children, 110 have already been reunified with their families, and efforts continue for the remaining ones.
