War in Iran: a 'serious risk for Africa' according to the AfDB

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the African Union warn that the war in the Middle East could lead to a cost of living crisis in Africa, with rising fuel and food prices. The report notes that the Middle East accounts for 15.8% of Africa's imports and 10.9% of its exports. A loss of 0.2 percentage points in African GDP growth is projected for 2026 if the conflict lasts more than six months.
