Warri Tensions: PANDEF backs Oborevwori, urges unity, restraint

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his efforts to sustain peace in Warri through stakeholder engagement. The group called for restraint amid tensions from ward delineation issues. PANDEF emphasized the historical and cultural ties among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo, who have coexisted for centuries. The governor had convened meetings in Asaba before his visit to Warri on June 8, 2026.
