Waste management: Hysacam says more than 100 of nearly 300 ordered trucks are being shipped

Hysacam says more than 100 trucks are being shipped to Cameroon as part of an order for 305 vehicles to collect household waste. On October 14, 2026, Garba Ahmadou, the company’s regional director for the Centre region, said Yaoundé would receive an initial batch of 30 trucks, adding to the 90 currently assigned there. In August, CEO Jean-Pierre Ymele said 120 trucks were available, with 120 intended for Douala, and forecast their deployment in Cameroon in September. Hysacam did not specify how many additional vehicles had been received and put into service.

Socially focused spending accounts for 45% of the budget and includes school canteens, free public schooling for girls, compulsory health insurance and the ARCH project. The proposal will be reviewed by the National Assembly’s finance committee before debate and a vote, and lawmakers can amend it.
