Kenya has heightened surveillance at its points of entry due to an Mpox outbreak that has spread to 40 counties. Although no cases of Ebola Virus Disease have been confirmed, the government has activated the National Ebola Virus Disease Incident Management System. Authorities are also training healthcare workers and operationalizing isolation facilities while stockpiling response supplies. As of September 6, the country had recorded 1,298 confirmed Mpox cases and 19 deaths, with Mombasa being the most affected county.
