‘We are hungry, leave Igbo presidency talk’: Lawyer attacks Deputy Speaker Kalu over 60-year comment

Peter Agubuzu, a lawyer and chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu over his remarks about Igbos having to wait 60 years for a four-year presidency. Agubuzu said the debate distracts from hunger and economic hardship facing Nigerians. He said Peter Obi’s goal is to shift Nigeria from consumption to production and echoed the “Tinubu Must Go” slogan. He called for the South-East’s single-term demand to be considered through the principles of zoning, equity, national unity and inclusion.
