We Make Up 25% of Voters in 31 States and Will Elect Obi in 2027, IAD Says

The Igbo Agenda Dialogue (IAD) has endorsed Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Party for the January 16, 2027 presidential election. National chairman Chekwas Okorie claims Igbo people make up at least 25% of voters in 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory, and more than 99% of voters in the five South-East states. After assessing leading candidates and consulting its networks, the IAD concluded Obi was the best choice for Nigeria; Okorie says Obi will run with former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. The group plans to step up its campaign and urged other Igbo politicians to campaign on issues.
