DR Congo: “We’ve done our duty with Paris Brunner, but…”, Desabre comments on Monaco striker

DR Congo coach Sébastien Desabre said his staff had presented its plans to Paris Brunner but would not chase the 20-year-old AS Monaco striker. Brunner, who is weighing a choice between Germany and DR Congo, remains free to join the Congolese team, whose door is open. Born in Dortmund to a German father and a mother with Congolese roots, he plays for Germany’s under-21s and has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 12 starts for Monaco. Desabre named a 26-player squad to face Sierra Leone in Kinshasa on November 12 and in Casablanca on November 17 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
