What different world maps get right - and what they get wrong

The widely used Mercator projection distorts the size of countries, notably showing Africa disproportionately compared to Greenland. The UN General Assembly has adopted the 'Correct the Map' resolution to replace this map with the Equal Earth projection, which better represents the actual sizes of continents.
