When is the 2026 Ballon d’Or, who are the favourites, and how can you watch it?

The 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony takes place on Monday, honouring the best players of the 2025-26 season. Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe are among the men’s favourites, while Spain’s Alexia Putellas is tipped to win the women’s award for a third time. Created in 1956 by sports writers Gabriel Hanot and Jacques Ferran, the ceremony will be held outside France for the first time. Winners are selected by an international jury of specialist journalists.
