White House unveils more details of Trump’s Venezuela oil deal

The White House revealed that the deal between the U.S. and Venezuela will allow the Pentagon to hold a 35% stake in a joint venture with North American Blue Energy Partners, led by Alejandro Betancourt. This partnership includes a $100 billion investment in oil infrastructure and guarantees the U.S. the right to buy 20% of the output at cost. Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez granted 100-year rights over 17 oil fields with proven reserves of 65 billion barrels.
