Who determines Iran’s fighting and negotiating position amid US threats?

Negotiations aimed at preventing a further escalation between Iran and the United States have stalled, drawing attention to the power of Iran’s security and military establishment. The anniversary comes amid the war launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, which killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and disrupted energy markets and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani and judiciary chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi portrayed US setbacks in the war and midterm elections as defeats inflicted by Iran.
