WHO provides at least 7 tonnes of medical supplies to strengthen Ebola and cholera preparedness in Maniema

The WHO handed at least 7 tonnes of medical supplies to Maniema’s Provincial Health Division in Kindu on November 3. The shipment includes medicines, emergency health kits, cholera treatment supplies, and equipment for infection prevention and control. The support is intended to strengthen preparedness for Ebola, as the DRC faces its 17th outbreak, and improve cholera care in the province, which is considered high-risk. WHO epidemiologist Dr. Jad Kabeya stressed Maniema’s exposure to the risk of Ebola spreading.
