Samsung Electronics is facing one of the most serious strikes in its history, with over 48,000 workers set to stop work for 18 days to protest bonus payments. The union demands the abolition of a 50% cap on annual bonuses and the allocation of 15% of the company's annual operating profit to bonuses. Despite government-mediated negotiations, the two sides were unable to reach a consensus.
