Why are nearly 50,000 Samsung workers about to strike in South Korea?

Samsung Electronics is facing one of the most serious strikes in its history, with over 48,000 workers set to stop work for 18 days to protest bonus payments. The union demands the abolition of a 50% cap on annual bonuses and the allocation of 15% of the company's annual operating profit to bonuses.
