Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited, stated that he no longer wants to be referred to as the richest man in Africa, preferring to be recognized for creating wealth and opportunities for others. During the launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, he urged Nigerians to deepen the capital market and promote wider ownership of wealth. The IPO, which opened on September 14, 2026, offers 4.1 billion new ordinary shares at N525 per share.
