Why I signed Wizkid instead of Drake - Akon

Senegalese-American singer Akon explained why he signed Nigerian singer Wizkid in 2008 instead of Canadian rapper Drake, citing Drake's financial demands of $1 million. He signed Wizkid through Banky W's Empire Mate Entertainment and credited Banky W for discovering Wizkid. Akon also claimed he introduced Wizkid to the US market.
