Iran has threatened neighboring countries with retaliation if they enforce new US sanctions aimed at stopping Iranian airlines from operating internationally. Following these threats, several Iranian flights to the UAE, Iraq, Oman, Turkey, and China have been canceled, although some flights to these countries continue. Mohsen Rezaei, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary, warned that Iran might prevent airports in countries cooperating with US restrictions from operating flights to Iran.
