Why Nepal’s green ‘miracle house’ survived monster flood

A green-painted house in Nuwakot district near the Trishuli River survived devastating floods that swept away vehicles and buildings. Its owner, Prakash, attributed the house's resilience to its strong foundation and quality materials used in its construction about forty years ago. Although the lower portion was badly damaged, Prakash and his family managed to escape after being trapped for about an hour by the rising waters.
