Why US won’t recognise Somaliland independence

The US has signaled it will not recognize Somaliland's independence. A State Department report states that Washington recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, including Somaliland. Despite Somaliland's strategic importance, the US will maintain a positive relationship but will not follow Israel, which recognized Somaliland last December.
